Annual Membership Meeting

Saturday, October 23rd: 10AM–Noon

Our annual WSRID Membership Meeting coming up quickly! Due to ongoing COVID risks, this will again be an online Zoom meeting. Registrants will receive important meeting details and the Zoom link prior to the meeting.

If you are a member, please remember to log-in so you can register appropriately.

NEW THIS YEAR - ONLINE VOTING!!

During the 2015 Annual Membership Meeting, members approved changes to the bylaws allowing electronic (online) voting. This is the first time all voting will be done online.

During the meeting, the board and members will have the opportunity to connect and review the struggles and successes of the past year. We will introduce the candidates and motions, with an opportunity for questions before voting. And, we will take time to get your input and suggestions for the future.

Because the voting will be online, all eligible members will have the opportunity to participate, the ballot cannot be changed after it is sent to the members in this notice (30 days before the meeting). Any nominations or motions made during the meeting may be brought to members for vote next year OR during a special meeting.

Voting will begin at the end of the meeting and will remain open until November 24th.

Below are the three things you will be asked to vote on:

  • 2020 Annual Meeting Minutes (Members who are eligible to vote can preview the proposed minutes here. Please read them in advance and send any questions or comments to the secretary)
  • Board Candidates (listed below)
  • Motions (listed below)

Note: Candidate statements and rationale for motions will be emailed in early October and posted on WSRID’s website.

MOTIONS:

Motion 1:

  • To reduce annual dues for students and retired interpreters to $10/year

Motion 2:

  • To increase annual dues for Certified members to $60
