RID Certification Categories:

RID has established a process of certifying interpreters on the basis of an examination by a board of evaluators. The certifications that are currently recognized by RID include:

• National Interpreter Certification (NIC)
• Certificate of Interpretation (CI)
• Certificate of Transliteration (CT)
• Comprehensive Skills Certificate (CSC)
• Reverse Skills Certificate (RSC)
• Transliteration Certificate (TC)
• Specialist Certificate: Legal (SC:L)
• Oral Interpreting Certificate (OIC)
• Certified Deaf Interpreter (CDI)
